What Are Assets In Your Online Business?

Every business online or off line needs to have some assets. Without any assets you have only a business but no capital. The assets you are building are your capital or financial health of your business. Without any assets no one will lend you money in case of a financial emergency that you need to invest some money to get your business going.

Wiktionary calls asset any property or object of value that one possesses. If you have an online business you don’t really have an office and office supplies (fax, typewriter, copy-machine, desks and so on), you have when starting your business only your laptop and maybe a small printer.

Asset

So, what is your asset in an online business? You have to build your asset with your list or opt in list. In that list you have your prospects for your business. And you can offer and sell to that prospects your products or services over and over again. This in return brings you money into your business. Because when someone buys your product or service he will pay you for that product. But to get most out of your online business you have to create leverage. Leverage according to Wiktionary is ‘the ability to earn high returns from high capacity utilization’.

In the online business you build leverage in the moment you automate your business through your auto responder who takes care of sending one message to all your prospects or customers with one hit of a button. That is leverage because you do it only ones but thousands of people will receive your message. You can repeat this process over and over again. When you sleep people will receive your messages and get replies automatically.

The next asset in your online business is your articles. The more articles you have in circulation with your personal name or business name the more people will know about your business and will visit your site (your store). This is also called branding your name or business. The better the content of your articles the more likely you will attract visitors to your online store and get more information about what you have to offer. If you have something to offer that your visitor is in need of to solve his problem he most likely will become a customer of yours.

A third asset for your online business is posting on blogs or has your own blog. If you write articles on your blog(s) on a daily basis you can have a ton of free traffic to your blog and to your websites. If people like your content they invite others to read your articles and this is a very strong mouth-to-mouth advertising which doesn’t cost you a dime. You can run contests, or asking for feedback on your blogs or anything else what gets people active on your blog. You also can ask people to add unique content to your blog and much more.

When writing articles don’t rely too much on PLR articles because they are not too much worth the money they cost. They might be poorly written or the articles have too much exposure on the net. Everybody use the articles without rewriting them. In that case you won’t get too much traffic from search engines they purge your articles as duplicates content. The best way is to write unique content. Only if you are the first person who post a PLR article than you might get more traffic to your site. Or you can write a review over a product or book and post it in your blog.

These are three examples of building your asset. There are much more. You can get traffic through viral reports, audio and video reports and so on. You can say that anything you create that will continue to generate traffic and sales over time to your site is an asset.
